There are four main parts of a temperate rain forest:
First part (Emergent)- Super tall trees that rise above the rest of the forest and receive the most sunlight.
Second part (Canopy)- Covered with tall trees that are close together blocking out the remaining sunlight.
Third part (Understory)- Small bushes, trees, and plants such as ferns, receives very little sunlight due to the first two layers blockage of it.
Fourth part (Forest Floor)- Almost no plants live on the forest floor because of the lack on light, but when leaves fal from the upper layers it provides good food, shelter, and camouflage for the animals living there.
